Two women arrested after ‘throwing acid over roofer’ whose facial burns left him ‘unrecognisable’

TWO women have been arrested after a roofer says he had acid hurled at him – leaving him “unrecognisable”.

John Chapman, 36, claims he was targetted and has now been left with horror injuries that he fears will scare his baby.

The roofer exclusively told The Sun that he had been working in Aldenham when he was ambushed by masked assailants.

The pair threatened him with knives, then threw a corrosive substance — causing facial injuries.

As he tried to wash his face in a sink, they threw more over his back.

John said of Monday’s attack in Aldenham, Herts: “I could only see their eyes and hear their voices, but I know who did it.

“It was clearly a targeted attack.”

He was taken to a specialist burns unit but has been warned he’ll “never look the same again”.

John added: “I’m unrecognisable.

“What if I scare my 11-month-old baby?”
