The 24-hour news channel has come under fire from viewers who tuned into their political show on Thursday night.

Sophy Ridge was at the helm of her Politics Hub programme digesting the day’s headlines from Westminster.

During the bulletin Sophy, 39, and her guests were discussing Labour’s Angela Rayner revealing her favourite cocktail is called ‘Venom’.

The anchor then pulled out already-made Venom cocktails to taste live on air.

Sky News‘ political editor Beth Rigby then ran into the studio to taste the drink for herself.

But as the humorous scenes played out, viewers at home were left less than impressed.

Raging on social media, one said: “And you consider this to be somehow ‘newsworthy’.”

A second wrote: “This is quite dumb.”

“Oh dear, Sophy. It’s just really poor, journalism, isn’t it? How disappointing. Surely you’ve noticed fewer engagements on here,” said a third.

Meanwhile, just days ago Beth, 48, was left clamouring for words as she appeared to be completely unaware of where to look while on air.

The moment made uncomfortable viewing as her guests grinned through gritted teeth as their host made the faux pas.

Beth appeared to lose her usual composure and professionalism as she shouted out for directions on where to look.
